Philips Hue bulb status is not up to date in the device Browser

Hi,

I have paired my Hue hub to the Zipato box. I can run scenes and rules using the devices.

However i have two issues:

  1. The Device browser shows certain bulbs to be on (100%) even after the scene to turn them off (which works). The bulbs are off and the Hue app is accurate.
  2. The scene to turn the bulbs on sometime only goes on at a low level (20%). A second run of the scene and the bulbs go on 100%.

Any suggestions.

FYI: I'm new to Zipato but a Vera veteran and recent convert.

Hello Andrew,

I think this is an issue with Zipato integration, there is a delay and I think a problem when you use groups or scenes on zipato. My guess is that Zipato triggers triggers commands for individual devices and for some reason the hub does not react nicelly to many commands that much fast. Since all my home has Phillips hue I decided to do some research and solved that problem using groups (phillips hue bulb groups on hub) directly triggered from Zipato using HTTP calls, having hue integrated to Zipato is helpfull since I can examine the status of bulbs in rules (with of course a bit of delay).

See below my guide to setup your Phillips hue to receive HTTP commands from Zipato and some examples.

Hi Alberto,

Thanks for the reply. It may be the integration which is disappointing.

The hub reacts fine for Alexa, the Hue app or my old Vera so i'm pointing at the Zipato side to be the issue.

I've done HTTP calls/work for the Hue before but I was hoping to avoid this. Great reply and post about using the API though. Really appreciated.
