Virtual meter attributes in new Android app

David Pritchard shared this problem 7 years ago

In the latest version of the Android app, the attributes of virtual meters can only be viewed one by one, and you have to click laboriously through all of them, meaning that if you want to get to attribute number 14, you have to click/press 13 times. But then it automatically resets to the first one after a few seconds! This does not seem to me like an improvement over the old app. Am I missing something?

Has nobody noticed this?

If you have the main end point on "show device" then you have to click to get the values.

But if you use the "sub end point" then it will show 1 devices.

Look at the device config.

I looked at the "configuration" dialog for the device (a HTTP device) but I couldn't see what you were talking about. What's the option called?

hi david, under the device manager tab, find the virtual device, open up the branches until you get to the value1 branch, click on settings. Here are 2 boxes. Master and show as device. Master will set this value1 as the default value to show when viewing the virtual meter in the app, you can still cycle through other values, but this is set as the default view. Show as device will set this value to viewable in the app, but only this value, not the whole virtual meter.

OK, but that will also affect how I see the device in the web app, right?

Yes, it will basically be shown as a separate device, shown in both HTTP devices (by clicking to show the right sub device) and whatever category you pick for the HTTP sub device (i.e. generic meter).

Yes, and it is very annoying.

Absolutely. It was better before.
