Capability against electronic jamming equipments

Under Consideration

Electronic jamming equipments are easy to use against Z-waved system.

Then your security system becomes useless.

It could be interesting if the zipabox could included a capability to detect such a jamming.

For example, in an certain mode (alarm mode), with this capability activated, the box would try to detect one or several zwave devices (not on battery) every 2min (param. delay).

If not responding and if the box not on battery, so this is not a voltage interruption, the box could launch a scenario (mail, tweet...) and eventually activate a wired device directly connected to the box (siren, flashing light)

Good idea.

There is some support for jam detection in Z-Wave, but using it would create a LOT of false positives. Checking on mains powered devices for jamming could just work.

the jamming should be part of the box or the backup module

Years passed away.. but I think no solution for that at all.

A first simple solution exist and could be simple, if zipato let us to do that in rules: check the online status of mains powered devices..

if more that one mains powerd device is offline there are two case:

  • network is under a jammer attack
  • Loss of main power.

Not a 100% safe approach, but it can work.
