Merten / Schneider connect series switches combability with Zipabox ?
I found Zipaton a week ago and I find it very promesing product (Price and Features). I currently use Vera 2, but is it litle bit old and slow device (need to replace near future)
I find Zipato's idea about modularity (KXN is interesting / lot off modules in European market).
I have anyway two questions about Zipabox
a) Is interner connection required normal operation or only for changes in the configurations set?
b) I have four Merten / Schneider connect series switches (two tatspad model). Is this combatible with Zipabox ?. I got them something to work with Vera 2. Even though it was quite a tricky job.
More information about switches: http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php?topic=276.30 and manufacturer page: http://www.schneider-electric.com/products/ww/en/1200-building-management-system/1280-wireless/2080-connect/
I can confirm that the Merten/schneiden Connect series switches work well with Zipabox. Installation was much easier when with Vera Z-wave controller.

I was finally able to solve my issue with joining these switches. The problem was basically too big network (as per support) in my system - abt. 60 devices. The answer is to redo the whole network adding these switches first and then all the other units. It seems to add more switches though also later on.
Huge job to do especially if you have already installed all the devices into "hidden" locations like me :( Well meanwhile I happened to buy one of these new Zipato Tablets and used that to make a new network (it can be carried around to the device locations).
Now able to light the house at least :) Zipabox a bit useless though now.
Tried also to create cluster and was able to include both Tablet and Box into it but devices within Tablet system not visible in Control Center. Again kind of dead end.

More information about what can be done Merten switch side (no with controller). Merten switches are possible to made operate, but it is not easy. I recommend using other switches.
