Rule that runs when my cellphone is connected to home network
Need Answer
Well, I would like to set house alarm on/off when my cellphone is connected/not connected to my home network - same network as my Zipabox. Is there any way to do that?
Today I use IFTTT and geofencing but it's not that accurate.
android or ios? on android i recommend using the app tasker and setting a virtual meter in zipato. or another app similar is automagic
Hi Christian. See this topic. Most reliable system for presence detection so far. Combination of IFTTT and also Life360 so 2 paralell services sending states.

u can try to get the State fro your WLan Router:

all good options. I like tasker or similar because it relys solely on my phone, that obviously needs to be one for the rule to work anyway, otherwise what am I pinging. Using IFTTT location services I have found pretty good too since their last update. Life 360 I had some issues with and stopped using, but may go and test it again as Attila seems to really like it, and I trust his ideas. Using derHelles options is flawless, but requires to much work for me plus I have to run another device, RaspPi, would be good if this could run on the Zipatile instead.
Other options would include using multiple motion sensors and creating a presence meter. i do this to detect if people are at home and moving around. It increases the meter every time there is movement, and decrease if not, you could then use this to ping you phone if there is no movement (maybe you have left home) or on first movement detect (meter=1 when you first arrive home). To do this I would use a mini server like what derHelle suggest. But maybe their is an app you could install on a zipatile to do this. Havent looked into it.
Or maybe, if you have a Zipatile, use tasker and you phones and Zipatiles bluetooth. Then when you arrive home, they will connect via bluetooth, this triggers a task in tasker, which will fire a http request to turn off a virtual sensor which disables you alarm.
So many options to skin a cat as they say.
