System Variable "Reboot"

acteck shared this idea 4 years ago
Under Consideration

I like to have a variable reboot, which has the value "1" after a reboot.

Why: Some virtual switches go to value "off" after a reboot but in the UI they show "on". With a system variable "reboot" I can check this and make the needful changes.

Look for henryfredrikson's comments on his "reboot detector", which I copied. Basically you can take advantage of the loss of variable values or switch states to detect when a reboot or disconnect has happened.

Hello,

I copied this reboot detector rule. With variable and virtual switch. But it did never fire. Switches were restored correctly and variable also.

Well mine seems to be working. I set it up to send me an email when the Zipabox is rebooted (and reestablish variables), and I get the email without fail.

me too. It is great to know when the box has finished the reboot (among other things).

This one works, but two things:

1. It seems to need a small delay before to works well.

2. All other routines have to be stopped if you have a lot. Otherwise the box seems to have to much to do after the restart and the messages can get lost.

Extension:

Sorry The pictures two was wrong. I have changed it.

Hi,

Could you provide pictures with language set to English?

I'd like to set-up such detector but could find only quite evasive instructions (I'm not familiar yet with variables...)

Thanks in advance

Here is the simple reboot detector rule. The scheduler frequency and the message form/text is up to you.
