Hello, I'm new user of ZipaMicro, I was trying to collectsome information across different places on internet, but still I misssomething. If anyone either experienced user or Zipato specialist can guide melittle bit I would be really gratefully.

To not get lost in it, I will divide my question indifferent points.

1) I would like to measure temperature of home heatingsystem by checking directly temperature of pipes. Do we have some temperaturesensor with external temp. probe? I havecurrently found only two suitable options , first is Fibaro FIBEFGK door sensor(out of stock, probably not sold anymore) second option is fibaro universalsensor(i'm not sure if zipato is fully compatible and it seems to be little bitconf. overhead because I need connect only one sensor probe. , but this devicecan have 4 )

2) What about types of connections available to ZipaMicro? Iknow that it is only z-wave device, but there are many available brands inmenu. Can we connect some devices over wifi? Like Google Nest devices? (I guessit is using wifi, I have not found any information regarding product usingz-wave)

3)I have just only common knowledge regarding http requestsand api calls, but I would to use them and pair ZipaMicro with rpi. Doesanybody found easy solution how to call bash script from zipato? I assume somehttp server on rpi is necessary. I think I could implement systemd control overhttp request with help from github project, but not tested yet. (https://github.com/ogarcia/sysdweb)

4) Can we somehow use Zipato mini keypad RFID to controldevices in our network differently than by using Home/Away buttons? There 5 morebutton, I still hope that there could be some combination of them to turn onheating or something:-D

5)What is purpose of second USB port on ZipaMicro device_ One is for charging but what about the second one?

6)I have purchased battery Li Ion as described in Zipamicro documentation, so it should probably serve as backup. If it is Li Ion battery, will ZipaMicro also recharge it if needed? :o)

Hi Miloslav! How are you?

I am sorry to see you have no comments to your long e-mail. I guess you wrote it a bit too long. :)

I can only comment on a few points.

1) The Fibaro products normally works fine. The Fibaro universal sensor FGBS321 is very useful and you can connect only 1 sensor if you want. Fibaro also have a new version named Smart Implant or FGBS-222. This device seems even smarter since you can connect 1-6 DS18B20 sensors or 1 DHT22 sensor AND you should be able to control the two relay outputs from your Zipato controller. NOTE! I have not tested the new FGBS-222 so I am not sure if it is fully supported yet! There are more options for adding an external temp probe. Qubino for example have the Flush Relay devices that you can add a temp probe to.

2) If your ZipaMicro has access to internet you can interact with many other systems "via" LAN or WiFi. But if possible to connect to any devices locally, without connecting to the cloud and internet, I am not sure. I guess not possible. Hope I am wrong.

3) Have no idea.

4) Have no idea.

5) Have no idea.

6) Can you share that documentation? I search for info about what battery to use and how to install it.

Hi, thanks for info. I can not share with you the documentation, I do not have it anymore, it was something which I have seen on internet and I'm not sure where it was, but I have added few details to my post regarding battery backup, hopefully it will help you. I can only add, that even it was not working for me, the connection and type battery seems to be ok(support did no complained about it), only my zipamicro just ignores if I put battery there and do not use it as backup. If you will add battery and it will work for you, please let me know :o)

Hello Milovslav,

1) I used Fibaro universal sensor FGBS321 with 3 sensors. It works well . On dashboard it seem 3 different temperature values. You can use 1 to 4 sensors.

2) You can add other IP protocols . for example you can add Philips hue , sonos, nest, modbus etc. But you have 3 limit of protocols

Hi, thanks for tip. I have already got my universal sensor, I will soon use it for measurement of heat system temperature, it will be big boost for me.

Modbus also looks interesting. It would be great to have also SONOFF compatibility but it is most probably not there, only option is to use some custom solution.

Did you tried some 3rd party devices combination with zipato by yourself ?I think that I have seen somewhere information to for example be able control devices from Philips HUE via zipato I need to have also philips hue hub device. Can you confirm it?

Hi, first take the Philips Hue Bridge and add philips hue bulb to Bridge after that you can add philips hue bridge to zipato system.

One good thing with adding the Hue Bridge as a second "controller" might be that you can actually use both the Zipato app and rules etc. AND still use the Hue app in parallell.

Anyway. About the battery that you replied you did not still have the manual that you used to install a battery. Can you please send a picture how your ZipaMicro looks inside? Thanks!

Actually I do not see sense to have 2 hubs/bridges in my system. So this function is not useful to my. Better then buy another bridge and pay for it, is to use directly zipato bulbs. Anyways thanks for info, good to know :-)
