Zipatile - How many of you have issues with OS crashes?

Robert Wiklund shared this thanks 23 months ago

Hi,

I would like to ask the community here if there are other users here that have issues with the Zipatile crashing hard?

At least a couple times per month, the Zipatile freezes or gets buggy lines on the displayer, or freezes hard with a white screen or something like that. It then needs a hard reset and reboot.

Cheers,

go to Android settings

- navigate all the way down and find -> About Tablet

- enter About Tablet and look under Model Number

- you should have one of the following:

- Zipatile

- Zipatile-v.1.1

- Zipatile-v1.3

Please download the right version and install it on your ZipaTile:

http://ota.zipato.com/zipatile/ota-v1.0.8-zipatile-v1.4.zip

http://ota.zipato.com/zipatile/ota-v1.0.8-zipatile-v1.3.zip

http://ota.zipato.com/zipatile/ota-v1.0.8-zipatile-v1.1.zip

http://ota.zipato.com/zipatile/ota-v1.0.8-zipatile.zip

After you've downloaded the right file:

- put this file onto your micro SD card (make sure that it's capacity is 8GB or less)

- change the name of the file to update.zip

- put the SD card into the ZipaTile

- press the on/off button and press shut down

- when the ZipaTile is powered off, hold the volume down button until you see the Android logo (green robot)

- after the update your ZipaTile will restart

If it's not fixed, try it with one of the other three updates, one of these should work

This Way fix my zipatile now

Thank you. I had checked the version and installed the correct OTA for it, but with it I have these issues. I might try and install another "wrong" version and see if it helps.

Thank's again,

@Athensboy: Do you have links to older firmware, specifically looking for versions 0.9.999 and 1.0.1 or thereabout for features since have been removed. Opened a ticket with zipato, but they could not access my network and requested opening up ports. Installing an older version through automated recovery as you described it above is way simpler.

With my old Zipatile, it reboot/crash every 3 days.

It was the old version of Zipatile (with only 1 micro-usb)

With the new one (RMA), I have never reboot since 1 month.

I've the same issue too, need to check on my zipatile model number, but it is running the latest updates, I think it received some OTA update last week. Need to monitor if it still crashes.

this was the answer that gave me zipato

Hi,

If you try to install all 4 firmware version on both problematic Zipatile controllers and problem persist I can only continue with RMA procedure.

Please send us the following information, in order to allow Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA):

- Units serial number (serial number for both Zipatiles)

- Scan of receipt
