Zipatile & Philips hue gen 3

Anthony Goubard shared this thanks 21 months ago

Hi,

I have a Zipatile that includes ZigBee.

I also have some Philips Hue blubs that according to the documentation uses ZigBee Light link protocol. https://www.developers.meethue.com/documentation/how-hue-works

I can't seem to connect both, in the add device there is only philips hue and gen 2 listed but they all fails.

When I add a device using ZibBee, I have a "Device Found" then "please wait while configuring your device" and then "Configuration failed".

Has anybody successfully connected a zipatile with ZibBee with a Philips Hue bulb without bridge?

Phillip Hue use Zigbee Light Link protocol, not Zigbee HA1.2 as supported by Zipabox/Zipatile. You need a Hue Bridge to connect the 2 together.

Osram Lightify bulbs work without a Bridge though, as they use Zigbee HA1.2

Hi Adrian,

Are the full controls for the Osram Lightify available in Zipato? ie, birightness and colour control?

If the Osram kit works directly over Zigbee I cant see the point in using Hue at all

TIA

Anthony,

As Adrian already explained, Zipato controllers and Phillips hue uses different protocols so you cannot add the bulbs without a phillips hue hub. You can either use Zipato's native integration with Zipato and/or use HTTP request, see below if you want to do the second;

Alberto, what do you mean by native integration? Do you mean using the integration with the Hue Hub?
