Zipato UI not loading rules for Zipabox

I don't know what is the problem now but now is imposible to work on my rules on the Zipabox (Zipatile works fine), when I log in into my account every thing seems to be correct BUT when I select the rules tab NOTHING appears, I know my rules are there because they are still executing and also I can use the API to GET all of them but, the web interface does not show ANY RULE I have tried to log in/out, reboot zipabox, sync (which still fails at first attempt no matter what), deleted Chrome cache and still the same.

Also I have tried with Internet Explorer and Firefox with the same results, weirdest thing is that I can access my zipatile without any issues. Is anyone else having this issue???

Hi Alberto

did you open a support case for this? Or did you manage to get it fixed?

Yes I do have a ticket for that since a few months ago, but Zipato said is not in their end so they closed it. I reopened but haven't had an answer since that. I post this to see if this is an isolated case or somebody else is having this issue also, sometimes when Zipato sees more people having the same issue they prioritize it.

Ok I will try to upgrade my system tonight and let you know if this is only "your" problem...

This happened even on previous firmware, I was hoping 1.3.10 would fix it but is still the same. I wonder if it's matter of capacity. I have over 120 endpoints (devices counting virtual and multiple endpoints) and over 150 rules.

ok I did the update and everything works fine here!

I'm sure you did try with different web browsers?

I have 100 devices and about 85 rules...so not as many rules as you. I hope this is not the case.

Yes I did, first I cleared Chrome's cache with the same problem, then tried internet explorer and finally Firefox. The same test I did in both my computers and through diferent internet networks.

Sync is indeed fast on 1.3.10 and I even that I cannot see the rules (or edit) I know they are there since they still work and also I can see them through the API. The problem is I cannot edit, enable/disable, delete (only from API) through web UI.

Shame for you. Go and contact support again. They must be able to check this out. They are able to login to your system...


Did you ever try to filter the rules list? Because I think it does reload the rules after you have entered some search text.


But if it is a problem that the system cannot display more than 150 rules!

Shame on me? Did I missed something? Yes I did try to filter the rules, it does not work. I'm unsure of the reason why this is happening which is why I created the post, thanks for your ideas though.

There are no "display limitations" to a number of rules. This is breaking in your browser for some reason.

Reinstall one of the browsers, launch it incognito mode, play around with the resolution of the display or something.

Hello Vedran,

Nice to hear from you, I have missed your support. I did what you suggested, updated chrome (wasn't on the latest version), cleared cache, log in both on incognito mode and normal mode and still same issue. Yesterday happened that I saw the rules populate one time but when trying to modify some message instructions none of the text was there, so I had to reload and then back to the same issue again.

I would buy that the problem is my computer or my network if it weren't for the following;

1. I can load zipatile rules without problem with any browser and any mode, any computer and I have tried on different networks and all work. Please notice that my Tile and my Box are connected to the same router with the same internet provider and same network.

2. I have tried three different laptops, one with Win 7 Professional, second with Win 10 professional and last with my wife's Mac Book Pro. ALL of them fail to load rules succesfully.

3. I have tried to log in from Home, Work, inlaw's, parent's network with the same issue.

4. I have tried with IExplorer, Edge (Win10), Google Chrome and Firefox. Same issue.

Please help, I can record a video of how it fails in all of them if you want and upload to my ticket.

I get the same problem quite a bit. I actually reported it to Zipato over a year ago. One workaround for it seems to be to wait until the items on the left-hand panel become visible before pulling out the right-hand panel.


Might it be connected to the number of rules? How many do you have (I've got 248)?

Hey David,

At the beginning I noticed it but only happened from time to time and I assumed that it was the internet connection or something, with a refresh everything was back, and indeed there is a noticeable difference between the time Zipabox takes to load and Zipatile.

I have over 150 rules, but this issue is way worse now, not even waiting or refreshing. Right after the firmware upgrade it did show rules on the first load (so I was happy and thought it was solved) but kept doing that after first load, and even on first load all my message action puzzles showed empty.

I also think it is related to the load on the processor, another issue that I've reported to Zipato is that my Zipabox sometimes rebooted by itself and never came out of "booting" process, one time I waited for 30 minutes and the box kept the blue light flashing until I manualy reset. The route cause was "a" rule was flooding the box's cache preventing it of rebooting. Maybe is something related to the load the rules give to the processor rather than the number of rules, also could be something broken within the rules causing these kind of problems.

@Vedran,

Could you please try to refresh a few times and see if the rules are still showing? also if the messages in any rule show any content?

I have been experiencing some latency on this issue (I was able to modify one of the rules I need to change after many tries, but then is back to the issue again).

Also, whenever I change a rule I get an almost guaranteed reboot.

The reboot happened to me also but then stopped, now it only happens from time to time. However I haven't been able to do much changes due this issue.
