Zipato V3, what will it be?
I am a new user of Zipabox 2 and so far it has not been easy, but it has been survivable.
Now, I just recently understood that there is a upgraded system on it's way, Zipato V3. I also got the impression that the WEB interface goes away in V3!! Is this correct??
In case it is correct it is a showstopper for me!
Let me explain.
I had 4 demands on my new z-wave system priotized in this order.
1. I had to be z-wave Plus
2. It should be possible to expand over time
3. I must have a WEB based interface
4. I wanted a "fire and forgett" system that once I set it up it would take care of it self.
So for this reason i choose zipabox, which was a cloud based solution where I thought I didn' have to care about software updates etc.
Secondly I really like the HW concept with the building blocks where I can add functionality as I develop the system.
Third, it was z-wave plus.
The last and very important thing was that it was WEB based. I like to sit with my computer and do my configuration. I don't care that it is not the most pretty interface, I have time and I can learn and interface.
Let me explain.
Zipato has an edge of their competitors and that is their HW concept. This concept attracts technical people and engineers, like myself. At the same time the very samt engineers and technical people also favor a WEB based interface.
By removing one of them you will remove 50% of the reason for choosing Zipabox and you will fall down in the same pit as Homey and other controllers.
Then you have to ask yourself, what is favorable with Zipabox for an average user compared with the competitors?
So back to my question, is the WEB interface going away in V3?
