Any ideas for a cheap ir controller with api?
Has anyone found or used a ir transmitter that is cheap and has an open api available?
Global cache Flex are fine, but expensive sometimes when we need a simple on/off controller of a device in an out of the place location.
The broadlink ir controllers look good, especially the RM mini 3, but offer no api or http command software to use. I would like something like the Globals Flex software and usability but on a cheaper product.
Would be really good if Zipato could intergrate the Broadlink range, but this will never happen, so I thought I'd ask someone else if they have tried anything.
Personally I dont see the value in a Remotec/global or similar for simple IR on/off commands, it should be a $20 product.
ps, for those interested in other simple, non secure contract control, I tried some of KMtronics products and they are good.
