Beating the Nest target temperature into submission

I don't know about everyone else, but I've noticed that when I try to set the target temperature of a Nest thermostat in a rule, it often ignores the change. So I've come up with a rule that uses brute force to make sure that the change happens.
Don't ask me exactly why it works, but it certainly seems to be reliable. I've created one rule per thermostat, and one variable per rule to store the desired target temperature. I set the variable, and invoke the rule.
