HTTP GET/PUT rules execution host and source IP address
I would like to know on which controller the rules are executed when two or more controllers are clustered, in order to determine the private IP subnet an existing rule or a new rule can reach.
- Do the rules stay in their original boxes, or are they moved to another box / cloud ?
- Which controller is a new rule hosted on?
- Which controller is a new virtual device attached to?
I have made a few tests in a Zipabox-Zipatile cluster and here are the results for the a new rule making an HTTP GET request:
- The rule seems to be executed on the controller the device in the starting WHEN puzzle is attached to. If the device in the WHEN puzzle is changed to another device attached to the other controller, rules seems to move too.
- When a new Virtual Device is defined, it seems to attach to the Zipabox. (Though the Zipabox was the first device added to the cluster, hence I am not sure if it would attach to the Zipatile should I have added the Zipatile to the cluster first)
I will appreciate any insights
