What is the connection method for Modbus? Does the system support Modbus/TCP?

Any news on this?

when adding a new Modbus device, I'm getting a 'You don't have selected network!' This is a Crouzet M3 which works fine with other modbus devices.

IP address and Modbus port tcp_502 are correctly defined

See screen shots attached.

Any comments/advice from Zipato ??

Please make sure there will be the read and write modbus functions.

Any ideas about the possible date for this release. I'm waiting for that to purchase your solution.

Sincerely,

besides modbus over TCP does it also work over RS485 with the Ziapto serial module? any proper documentation for this somewhere?

Seems like the option for modbus has been removed while there is no notice of it in the firmware updates.....

This was promised a long time ago, but it appears they've quietly forgotten about it. The silence is deafening whenever this question is asked on the forum.

I would also need this and it was a reason to buy Zipato.

A promised but probably forgotten feature.

Evidently the amount of bugs was so much that they don't have time to implement all wished and listed features. Onky time will tell...

Right now I have managed to get rudimentary control of my ventilation system with an on/off socket and a CO2 meter. It's surprising how much you can do that way. But I can't turn the ventilation rate up or down, or configure the bypass setting, or correct the outside temperature that the machine detects. Also, I don't know if it's a good idea to keep turning such an expensive piece of equipment off by cutting off the electricity to it.

I have wires connected to the machine ready for it to be controlled by ModBus. It's kind of frustrating.

We should create a topic called: "promised but never released"

Could get a long list.

You know. I gave it finally with this solution and found a more open solution based on PI and able to support most of the protocols as well as modbus. Domoticz is much less expensive and really open. I was really interested in Zipato but the way it is developed doesn't sounds good to me. Sorry

Yeah. Lately my glass is more half full than half empty with the Zipabox. Some bugs have been fixed and I've learned to work around the rest. For me, this is the one big gap in my system. I don't think Zipato do themselves any favours by remaining silent - it would be nice just to have an idea of when this might materialise.

I agree in a part.

But for me some promises where decisive for choosing Zipato.

And MOD BUS was one of that.

They didn´t say it comes maybe.

They said it comes with the new UI.

Well. I think they have so many things to do (apart of zipatile, all the bugs) and a small team, that we can be lucky that anyone in zipato find time to answer. Just look at the times these guys sometime respond. Either in the night or even on the weekend. Surely they are committed, just understaffed...

Hope Zipatile will provide Sebastian with enough revenue to get more talented people in and finally get things developed as they should be. No wonder that Fibaro is successive from this point of view...they must have tons of money to spend if they are able to create such high quality videos...

I noticed that there is now a ModBus entry in the new device dialog. I don't know anything more than that!

Any idea how to control DAIKIN MODBUS interface?

Please, log a support call with a request to implement MODBUS for you equipment and supply all documentation you can so they know which registers and addresses to work with. It is not a simple implementation, it is tailored for each device....
