Air conditioning split units and 3rd party IR controllers

Need Answer

Hi we are testing the integration of a IR controller that accepts HTTP sockets to send learnt codes.

The thing is: how to put on the screen a button set (+ / - or a slider) that we could define the range (17 to 30, for example) to make comparation rules to define the IR command to be sent for the proper option.

Hello,

you will need to use a combination of thermostat PRO and virtual switches, virtual sensors and eventually combine all that with the rules creator if necessary.

In Thermostat PRO you can use virtual devices as input, outputs and as a thermometer.

Then when you synchronize, the Thermostat PRO will show up on the zipatile as UP/DOWN buttons.

Interesting, we are also looking at a new IR unit from Shelly https://shelly.cloud/shelly-sense/ that has a great api available. Hopefully this can be controlled similarly. Lot of work, but at least we should be some functionality.

Would it be possible to use a variable instead of a virtual switch, that is set when the thermostat is set to a temp, then this variable(number set point) can be used in a rule to send the variable via http to the IR controller?
