zipatile controller independency

hello,

I live in a rented apartment in israel. The company which manage our building decided to equipped us with the ZipaTile v1, through a local service provider.

the thing is, we cannot do anything without there intervention which of course cost per hour. we would like to revoke their permissions, create our automations, and manage our device since Scratch "programming" is fairly easy. the device is based on android without an app store, if we log in to Zipato app on the device with the service provider's credentials we cannot do anything, we don't have permissions.

can we do hard reset and register it (using it's serial number) to our personal cloud account in zipato?

if not then it's totally acting as a surveillance device.

thanks.

Hello,

Please open a ticket regarding this issue and we will see what can be resolved. In the ticket, attach a picture of the Zipatile sticker where the serial number is visible.

Of course I wouldn't ask without physical access to the device, but thanks Ivan. I'll open a ticket, although a simple answer could clarify your position. Don't you think anyone deserve to know the answer? I've read most of your docs and searched the forum but couldn't find similar situations. I hope I don't really need you for such an easy task. let's say i bought second hand device, can I do hard reset and connect it to my account? thanks again.

Hard reset will just revert the Zipatile to factory settings , it won't unregister it from the current account. We would have to unregister the Zipatile for you in this case but you mentioned that you're renting an apartment in which the partner company set up the system with our controller, which means we cannot do that since they're the actual owners of it. It's up to them to give their tenants permissions for what can they do with a controller.

That's exactly the situation, thanks for clarifying this issue to me.
