IP Camera phoning home

I have a tp-link tapo ip camera. It's phoning home. I'd like to stop that.
I can see it in the states list. It's pinging a few different ip's, which is to be expected. So I tried to set up a packet capture in an attempt to see what hostname it's pinging, but when i end the capture, it captures nothing.
I put in the ip for host address, select my gateway on the interface dropdown, and click start. Then i connect to the camera from the app a few times. Then I click stop, and download. But every time, nothing.
Any suggestions?
