Need Answer

Hi there,

After deleting the sensor (4in1 Sensor Philio PST02-1A) in the Web Control Center I'm trying to re-add the sensor for about an hour.

It wont work :(

I always get a timeout message.

Can you help me please ...

Thanks

I had the same problem today. Simply unplug the zipabox and replug.

It doesn't work.

Clicking on add a new device it starts with "step 2 - restarting device - set your device in exclusion mode".

Why ????

When you delete a device you should alway exclude it.

So remove the battery from the sensor.

Then go to the dashboard

>> add new device

>>Wait for the counter to start

>> Put the battery back in.

>> it should start the exclusion process

>> If not >> tripple click the tamper switch on the back of the sensor

>> Then include the sensor (also tripple click tamper)

So "deleting" a device doesn't include "excluding" it ... that's a bit confusing but it makes things clearer that the dashboard now always says "excluding" when I want to include a new device.

If you delete a device then the device doesn't get excluded but it is removed from your dashboard.

So the device thinks it's still connected to the controller. So that's why you have to excluded.

Thanks for the explaination. That makes sense somehow.

However, I can not manage to get the device excluded. I even took the battery out and the LED on the device flashes when putting it back - but the dashboard gets a timeout.

I also did a factory reset of the Zipabox (via the dashboard unter settings / "restore to factory defaults") and a reset of the device. But it doesn't work.

The dashboard obviously expects an exclusion when I try to add a device. Maybe that's the problem, since the sensor is already excluded due it's reset? But why the dashboard isn't?

Seems to be a loop which can't be stopped ....

Does the count down start?

Yes, the countdown starts - but it always ends up in a timeout message

Yes I have had to add these sensors up to 6 or 7 times before they connect. Always the excluding works, but then the inclusion will time out. No need to reset the Zipabox to factory defaults, and simple soft reset should be enough. Just persevere, I know its annoying but eventually they connect.

But currently I'm not able to add any new device, since it always wants to exclude a device :(

@Adrian: Do you have had these issues only with this Philio sensor, or with all devices?

Also, sometimes you have to have the device closer to the controller when adding then when just using it, so you can try that awell

I don't know why and how ... but this time it worked and I was able to exclude the Philio and include it afterwards.

Very strange - maybe someone of the Zipato Support team has fixed this right now. (Yesterday I've opened a helpdesk ticket.)

Thank you all for your support :)
