Arming Alarm HOME by running scene

Need Answer

Hi,

I manually run a 'bedtime' scene to close down lights, etc, however I'd like this to set house alarm to 'Home'. The alarm appears as available in the scene but I don't appear to be able to set it's state. Help please? Thanks

1 - Create a virtual switch, you can name it "bedtime switch"

2 - Create a rule with:

  • When sensor "bedtime switch" = On
  • Action block; Device: bedtime; action: run scene
  • Action block; Device: myAlarm; action: Arm Home

Thanks for your comment Philippe.

However this is really annoying now. I have just accessed the set up of the scene and I WAS able to see buttons to choose state of the alarm OFF, HOME, AWAY. So I set the two alarms to what I needed. Then I look at the scene again and they are not settable again...? Then I go in and they ARE visible again!

I am syncing every time I change something.

very unpredictable. I will keep trying.

Sometimes, when you put a device icon inside an action block, the list of available items in the drop list of the action changes accordingly to the device attributes. It happends you have to choose an item in the list, and if you check the list again, the items have changed... try this when something strange happens with the list of actions.

This issue is obviously not resolved, as, a year down the line suddenly I have the same problem again.
