could someone show an example if this is doable please. I am new to rules and have tried for days now to do this and am failing over and over.

I want to arm my home away at a certain time if there has been no motion for a certain time.

and arm my home at night home at 11:00

firstly i would create one rule that turns on a virtual sensor upon no motion from your motion sensors. Then a second to use this sensor to activate the alarm. You can use wait blocks in either your first rule or second rule that way.

And the third with a scheduler or time block to activate at 11:00.

Just remember to go to the settings of your alarm partition and tick the box "quick arm"

Ok, firstly, you say you started with an auto arm at 11:00, but your attached rule has the time frame 6:30 - 6:45 pm.

When creating a rule you need to remember that you need a trigger, a change in state or update in state from a device. If your device stays in the same state, it will not trigger an event(rule). ei, in your rule you are waiting for a change in the alarm state, then the rule will check to see if the alarm is in the disarm state, and between the times specified, then it will send messages and arm if all criteria is met.See attached example for arming your alarm at 6:30 pm. You can change times, days and even use the sunset and sunrise with astro offset with a scheduler.

To have a group motion sensor that will activate your alarm is a little more tricky. Start by creating up a virtual sensor, you will use this sensor as a group sensor that all other physical sensors you have in your system will trigger.

1 rule will use your existing sensors to trigger the virtual sensor on and off.

2 rule will be activated when the v sensor is activated, and can contain a wait puzzle that waits the specified time and then activates your alarm.

Have a play and see how you go, any issue, post your rules here again and we can help

?????? WTF does that do? What are you trying to achieve here?

I was testing the virtual sensor/switch as I am new to this and wanted to go step by step. It worked until I put the wait in there....which was to wait until closed or no motion (I hadnt added the arm yet) trying to do one step at a time. Sorry I am clueless on some of this.
