Can a LED be attached to PGM or AUX port on security module?

Hello

I am desperately trying to find a way to indicate that the Alarm is in "AWAY" mode.

One thing that came to mind yesterday is if it would be possible to use the PGM or AUX power ports on the security module for this.

I already have a unused low voltage cable from where the Zipabox is located to my Entrance Zone. Would it be possible just to attach a red LED to the PGM port or to the AUX +\- port and when the Alarm is set to status "AWAY" then light up the LED by activating the PGM or AUX ports?

Hi Borgs,

You can attach an LED to PGM output, just limit the current to what the manual says.

Then use the PGM output in your rules to light up when away.

Tom,

Thanks for your reply!

So a LED in line with a resistor connected from the PGM output port and the other end of the circuit connected to a COMMON port?

If I use a LED with teh specification

  • 2.1V Forward Voltage, at 20mA current

Would a 1k Ohm resistor be enough?
