Change device status
Need Answer
Hello,
Is it possible to change the status of a device to your own personal choice?
For example a virtual device, instead of status "Active", I might wan't to show status "Working". (for my robot lawn mover)
Is this possible? If not, it's something to put on the wanted list. :)
Regards
Magnus

Dear Magnus,
I am afraid that this option is not available. I don't know if this will be implemented, as Active represents 1 or true or if you want "Working".

How about implementing a virtual "status" device. Then it should be possible to creating different status text depending on how you build your rules. It shouldn't be that advanced to code? :)
I bet this is a solution a lot of your customers want to have?

I have the same question.
All my doo/window Sensors show their status as Open or closed. My Binary sensor which checks the doorlock has the status Aktive/Inactive in the mobile app False or True... there must be a possibility to change the status without creating any rules....

this really should be an easy fix. I mean if you select a sensor to be a door sensor, surely it should just display as a door sensor with open/close, not active/inactive. Why was this not fixed a long time ago it is just amature looking on a tablet and many clients have asked me about this.
