How is the controller backup working?
1) If I have 2 ZipaMicro (as sample) - one is primary with all devices and I made a backup.
Then the first box is defective (does not work more) - can I use this backup for my second box, so that I have a real backup solution?
2) If I have a ZipaTile and made a controller backup - can I use in the case of defective ZipaTile my backup for a ZipaMicro (of course only for the Z-Wave part) - so that I will have again a working configuration?

Hi Michael,
1) If a controller is defective we can use the backup to transfer the configuration to another controller of the same model.
2) Unfortunately not possible at this moment but we are working on this so it may be possible in the future.

What does mean "we can use the backup to transfer..." ?
Can I do it myself - or will I need the support for this? (As sample if it will happen at Friday evening or while public holidays....)

You will need our support in that case since we need to delete associations from the old controller and transfer them to the new one and update this data on our servers.

So there is no way with factory reset or something else to simulate, that new ZipaMicro is the old one?
Is there an other way to have/get a real backup machine (available within short time without your support)? Do you plan to add this in near future?

There is no way to do a "clone" of the previous controller at the moment. This is partially because of the cloud connection which also needs to be updated and the serials and IDs would not match the old controller.
We do plan to simplify the procedure in the future but I do not have a timeline for this.

If you have a broken controller we transfer the licences to the replacement (new controller).
