Daisy chain smoke detectors

Need Answer

Been looking into replacing my old smoke detectors with new smart z-wave ones. But information about them and how they interact with the Zipabox is scarse.

Does anyone know if I can daisy chain either the fibaro or Hauppauge z-wave smoke sensors? When one is triggered I want all the rest to go off as well. I've got one in each bedroom as well as in other living areas like living room, basement etc.

Can one create a rule to trigger the other devices or are they not "triggable"?

I don't know the hauppauge but with the fibaro this is not possible.

Too bad. I have 6 old fashion detectors chained now. Won't go to zwave unless I can chain them too.

Just found that POPP has a z-wave smoke detector that "can be used as an indoor siren". If supported by Zipato I guess this means you can trigger the other detectors in siren mode if one of them goes off.

Anyone have any experience with these sensors and know if they work with the Zipabox?

No experience, but Vesternet sells these:

Seems they can directly switch on or off lights also.

The problem is that on their compatibility list it says:

Installs as Smoke sensor only - you can use Smoke = True in Rule Creator

Seems to be a nice smoke detector if it is fully supported.

Thanks for the compatibility list. Did not know about that one.

Would be great if someone from Zipato or someone having the device could update us on compatibility. Not sure if Verternet updates the list every time Zipato releases a new firmware.
