Danfoss valves and Virtual Thermostat / Can I assign different set temperatures?

Under Consideration

Hi Folks,

I am using two Danfoss LC-13 valves in my living room. Created a virtual Thermostat and defined the two valves as an Output device. They are "controlled" by a scheduler program.

For some reasons, at a desired set temperature, one Radiator gets warmer than the other one. Seems to be because of the pipes in my house. Is it possible to set one valve to another set temperature than the other valve, even though they are both controlled by the same set temperature of the virtual Thermostat? Let's say, the Scheduler says "21°C", so the virtual Thermostat is set. One valve then is set to 21°C, but the other one (which is colder) is set to 22°C (to compensate).

Can I get this managed? And if so, how to do it?

Hi Stefan,

maybe you can try it with a rule?

Yes, maybe. But I hope to find a solution somewhere in the options of the valve. Maybe some kind of offset I can define. So that the valve takes the set temperature of the virtual Thermostat and automatically adds the offset value.

I have doubts using (too many) rules. At least if it is not necessary. I am still not convinced if all rules are executed stable and permanent. What if there is no Internet Connection? Are all rules executed locally on the Zipabox, even if there is no Connection to the Cloud-server?

Hi,

the Rules are running in your box. So if the Cloud or your Internet Line is broken, the Rules are still running.

Go the old web interface and set an offset in the configuration pane of the thermostat.

Hi Stefan, the answer to your question. The Thermostat can not set two valves to the different temperatures.

Firstly, how about two Thermostats and control each one separately.

Otherwise why not try balancing the radiators with the stop lock valves to compensate for the flow rate. You need to close off the one that gets hotter faster then undo that stop lock a quarter turn at a time until they get hot at the same rate.

Remember the Danfoss TRV does not 'balance' a radiator.

@R2D2: I found the offset option in the old interface. Thank you. When I set the offset to "+2", where will this be visible? Let's say, the Virtual Thermostat is set to 16°C, so are the valves. With an offset of "+2" for one valve, this valve therefore has to be at 18°C. Where can I see this? In the device options of the GUI the valve still remains at 16°C. Does the valve itself will show 18°C on the display?

And why is this option only visible in the old interface?
