Difference between "virtual alarm" and "virtual battery alarm"

Hi

Some users or Zipato can explain the difference with these 2 virtual devices.

I use only "virtual alarm" but I don't receive information about low battery of devices.

Zones created in "virtual battery alarm" are hidden and we can't delete them ! So what interest to use "virtual battery alarm" rather than "virtual alarm" ?

Perhaps we have to use the two devices to get all the features ?

Thanks for yours answers and contributions

I too would like some more info on this battery alarm. It says it only works when the partition is active? What and how is this meant to be used? Cant we just have the battery level as a meter for use in puzzle rules?

Or is this meant to be a faster and quicker way to add numerous battery devices to a partition and that partition will notify you which zone(device) is low battery or offline.

Any tried this battery alarm? Results?

Andre/Adrian,

I have tried this alarm, in fact I have it in my controller since it was available. There was a post were zipato explained this alarm (Virtual Battery Alarm) was created in order to enable cloud and battery monitoring to the controller and devices attached to it. To this date I have only received notifications for controller offline/online, never for batteries, this is another half integration from Zipato.

Virtual Alarm is meant to be a security system and will not provide notifications of controller offline/online or any battery related problem, only for security system notifications.

Hi, I though battery alarm was battery icon in red only ?

No, in my understanding this battery alarm is supposed to send you notifications about controller's cloud status and device's battery status but it has never been implemented 100%. I was looking for the topic where Zipato said that but cannot find it.

The Zipatile already has these 2 alarms present, is it meant for the Zipabox then?

If it is for battery devices, when would it trigger? I suppose it might depend on the device and when it gives an alarm message due to low battery, maybe 15%?

Would be interested in hearing from ZipaGuys on this one.

Yes, before if you deleted it from Zipatile you couldn't add it back, now you can add it back and add it also on Zipabox.

However all the usage and purpose was never clearly defined by zipato and as you can see is not fully operational. I would also love an official statement, I guess we could open a ticket and ask directly.
