Eurotronic spirit

I have used this thermostat with zipabox for a while now, and I'm not happy with its function. I add it to a viatuel thermostat with an external thermometer. However, it seems that the zipabox does only pass the setpoint temperature along and nothing else. The valves seems to live their very own life from there on. Is there anybody who has any suggestions on how to get more of these valves. I've seen something about direct valve control but can not figure out to put the valves in this mode. Hope there is someone who can help. regards Martin

i would say every thermostatic valve "works" this way. They have they own logic for turning off and on and this brings many issues when you have to turn on/of a gas boiler. here is a nice article: https://zipato.infoserv.wiki/uncategorized/some-thoughts-about-home-heating-and-domotics/

Hello. Thank you for your input. I can see what it is you mean, but what should I use the virtuel thermostat, hysterises, temperature input etc., for then, if is not for controling valves 100%. Maybe I just had a wrong idea of how this works.

what is the source of your heating?

My heating source is a gas boiler.

same as me. Eurotronic valves can be manually opened/closed, but it would be difficult. I have Popp valves (and one eurotronic). VT supports only setting heating setpoint a getting heating status, which is used for turning the boiler on. This didn't worked for me, often was heating status on, but valve was closed :(

now I use these rules for turning boiler on, according to temperature in two rooms (and open/closed window):

STAV_TERMOSTATU= thermostat state

here is it set, timer goes every 5min:

/AY67rkaEHhmDAAAAAElFTkSuQmCCso I have a hysteresis of temperature setpoint-0,5 to setpoint-0,2oC. The temperature is set via VT.

this works quite well, i dont't have any deadlocks and don't need the PRO license :)

Okay maybe it's here my setup is wrong. I do not have a relay on the gas boiler to turn it on and off by zipabox, it is controlled by a thermostat on the boiler that measures the water temperature and starts and stops after it. I thought it would be okay to let the boiler start and stop from the measured water temperature. when the valves open and ask for more heat, water temperature drops and the boiler turns on...

and how do you get the water from the radiators? Is the pump still on?

Yes, the circulation pump is running constantly with the same flow.

and what is exactly wrong? are you having cold or too warm in the rooms? Is the boiler running (heating) when it should?

My problem is that the function of the valves is insufficient and there is too much unnecessary activity on the valves. I've had them sitting for a month now and battery% is down to 50%. It's just not good enough. Therefore, I hoped it was possible to let zipato's virtual thermostat control them completely. I would also think this will provide a more uniform/smooth heating in the house if all valves adjust to one or two temperature sensor located in the midle og house ..

Hello, can confirm the worse battery life....since the full support of Zipato the device drain battery as hell.

Have a ticket open and unsolved since weeks. Really frustrating

still no feedback to my open ticket....battery drain worse like weeks

We have made a couple of modifications to it in order to save battery life.

Rejoin them, or re-apply the descriptors.

Also, please check the wakeup intervals configured for them. If you lowered it significantly, of course it will drain the battery.

Hello, thanks for your feedback. Will try your suggestions...but w.r.t. the wake up interval due to the FLIRS functionality I could not change any wake up interval in the past
