Everything stopped working.

Francisco Javier González shared this problem 7 years ago

Good Morning.

On Saturday I saw that ZipWare had two updates available, "Zipato app" and "Repo app", update, from that moment everything stops working, the rules do not work, the Thermostat does not work ....

I've been making new rules all weekend and changing everything I can think of, but nothing works.

I don´t know what to do, personally I can not be every week with a problem of this type ..... It is desperate.

Greetings.

Firstly Raise a ticket. See this post https://community.zipato.com/topic/zipatile-intercom-sip-server

it seems that there might be some relation depite SIP and thermostat does not have anything in common.

Not sure about the rules as for my customer rule still works.

Dear Francisco,

please open a Ticket at support.zipato.com and provide us with the serial number of your Zipato controller so we could examine your case. Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Hello.

The ticket opened this morning before I wrote this post.

Best regards.

same for me.. always have Motion on 2 sensors, my virtual devices stopped working (no Motion timers).

I am not 100% sure yet, but I had issues as well. Rules did not longer work completely as expected: for example a light would turn on, but it never got to turn it off any more even when the conditions were met (no motion, door closed). Also I had motion sensor staying on status MOVE even though there is nothing really.

I remembered I installed two updates on the Zipatile (the ZipatoSIPServer and the InterComClient). I went back to the app repo and reverted back to the two factory versions. Since then it all works as before and designed. The reason why I am saying I am not 100% sure is because I also included my fibaro universal sensor - arduino - radar sensor during these days. I removed that as well before going back to the factory versions of ZipatoSIPServer and InterComClient. I will retest later this week to see if the new stuff does not kill all as I expect.

I have advised customer to do what you did. Not sure if he will have time today, but perhaps then tomorrow. Unless zipato will resolve the issue in the meantime I will report back what is the finding of customer.

Same thing here. I thought it was caused by my manual synchronization at Zipatile which breaks the rules because I'm using schedulers. If I didn't update the dates and times on the schedulers before synchronization, I would have issues with rules.

However, now I have reviewed the scheduler data three times and synchronized and rebooted Zipatile a couple of times, the rules will not run.

I think I'm getting tired of this ****.

Yes, same thing I did, I spent the weekend bundled with it to see if I was able to fix it.

I personally can not be like this every week, first because I am not expert of these systems, I am a mere user, I understand all the problems, I understand when we are asked patience, but please, that those who are not experts we desperate with this kind of problems.

I can also confirm Rolands statement. For my customer once updated those two apps the heating and the siren as sauawk stopped working. Customer reverted the two apps on zipatile and.back to normal. Now all working properly.

I now added my arduino/soundsensor/fibaro again and it works, so I now can confirm that new versions of the sipserver and intercom client indeed messed up. All worksfine with the previous versions....including my new project

Francisco, try to revert the zipatile apps to factory default. The system will get back to normal.

Seems to have helped on my system, too.

Everything worked perfectly well and since 3 days the following problems have appeared:

- my zipato psm02 remains on "movement"

- some rules do not execute or half-example the morning rule that turns on the light when there is a movement that turns on but does not go out

- the thermostat does not work

I get the impression that the problems started when I did the update of the intercom and the SIP

Yes, you are 100% right.

These symptoms are 100% the same as I had.

After I reverted back the SIPServer and InterComClient to the previous version it all worked again as before.

To do this simply go to the AppRepro app on the Zipatile and go back to what they call the factory settings for the two apps. It only is a 2-second action and does the trick for you :-)

Thank you very much roland I just put the 2 app back and already my zipato psm02 seems to work properly I will see tonight if everything is set

Good afternoon.

I appreciate your help, it's encouraging to see what some people try to help others.

Now I'm spending the day out, tomorrow when I'm at home I'll try what you say, I'll try to reverse the app. I don't know if I know how to do it.

Of all for me seems incredible that Zipato send an update app, we create a problem (to my understanding, very serious) and are not those who solve me that problem, the ticket that I opened is open and I have not solved anything. I'm beginning to feel like a "guinea pig" I don't know if you understand, it's a saying we have in my country.

Greetings and thanks again.

Hi,

I've opened a ticket, as similar to your problems for example virtual switches suddenly were no more set by rules. (I also believe since last saturday).

Support told me to use "action" instead of "set" to engage a virtual switch. By that I found out that I've used the switch icon from devices>control that do not work with "action" but only with "set". This worked fine prior the update but no more after. If I use the virtual switch from devices>actuator then it works, even after the said update that weekend.

Most rules I was able to succesfully test and hope also the others work once triggered. Though I'm very glad that support solved this within two days, I'm still disapointed by the sloppy software and the time wasted trying to find the reason. At least there should be error messages if a rule is designed "wrong" or a description with some more background. Last but not least also release notes for updates, so an average person stands a chance to debug himself.

Im glad not to be a professional trying to earn money in setting up Zipato systems for customers - I'm suffering already enough to get my own system working. Until everithing works my window blinds probably have reached end of live due to the testing and debugging..

Forget my last post. This morning rules stopped working again.

However there was a new update for the SIP server. As soon the update started the rules started working again. So SIP was the root cause for that misery.

Indeed with buing Zipatile we applied for a job as Guinea Pigs!

Apologies for inconvenience regarding rule issue, SIP is separate project and do not relate with Zipabox app. However, due to high CPU usage issue on SIP server app on v1.1.0 it caused other apps to slowdown or even to reject some other commands. That issue is fixed with latest version and should not cause problems for other apps anymore.

Hi everyone.

At home, I did what you said to reverse the apps to factory, the thermostat seems to have worked again, tomorrow will see if the other rules work. (My wife has a good face again)

A greeting and thank you very much again.
