Extending my zipato home automation
Answered
Hi Zipato Team, I'd like to know if I buy the hub and some accessories, can I connect to it any Zigbee control like light switch, door sensors, etc.. that are not certificated by you? in other words I'd to know if I can extend my zipato home automation with any zigbee control that I'll buy
No connection

Hi LSANA,
I'm not from the Zipato team, just a happy customer, here are my ZigBee experience with the Zipabox.
I have a development wall plug(http://www.develcoproducts.com/products/smart-plugs/smart-plug/) from a danish company called Develco, which I have added successfully, so no complains there.
Just yesterday, i bought 4 Osram Lightify GU 10 bulbs from the local hardware store (Bauhaus), extremely expensive if you ask me...8(
I bought those as a test, could i add them directly to my Zipabox Zigbee module, if not then i had read they should be able to be added through my Philips Hue 1.0 Bridge. And if all failed, I'v would have bought the Lightify Osram bridge.
Came home, mounted one bulb, set Zipabox into Zigbee inclusion mode - and voila, added perfectly to my Zipabox(After a refresh/sync with the servers, the devices showed up) (See attached pic! It's currently red, because the switch to the lights are off!).
If the kids + the wife allows it, I will mount the last three(bulbs) tonight and start working on the scenes and rules.
Hope that gave you an idea.
If possible, could you list the Zigbee devices that you want to include, and just maybe I might have some of the same devices laying around in the home of my friends/colleagues I could test for you...
Cheers and happy weekend..

So for the osram lights you don't need the osram hub? Its a lot better than Phillips.

Hi Attila,
No, that's is correct you can just use/buy Zipato's Zigbee Module (http://www.vesternet.com/downloads/dl/file/id/601/product/960/zipabox_zigbee_module_quick_installation.pdf)
I don't quite follow what you are concluding with Philips!

Well, with Phillips you need to have the Phillips bridge in order to work. As far as I know Phillips bupbs cannot be included into zipato without the Phillipsburg s bridge...

Hi Attila,
Should be possible without the Hue Bridge. The Hue bulbs should also comply completely to the Zigbee Light Link standard as defined by the Zigbee Alliance.
I will give it a try sunday evening, and get back to you, that is if you don't beat me to it, and test it before I have the time...8)

Phillips HUE use the Zigbee Light Light protocol whereas the Zigbee expansion module for the Zipabox is Zigbee ha1.2. I know it says ZLL should be compatible with Z HA1.2, but it is not always the case. Osram use the Z HA1.2 protocol, as does belkin wemo globes. Both of these connect to the Zigbee Zipabox with out the need of bridges.
