Formatting text in Push /SMS Message content

Need Answer

Push messages containing contents values from Variables or sensor/meter attributes contain " " rather than a normal space immediately before and/or after the value. Any spaces in the wording up until the first variable/meter value appear as a normal space.

Does anyone have a trick to fix this?

Zipato Support have opened a ticket for me, and are investigating the problem. The have requested direct access to one of my Zipaboxes to check further :-)

It is a general issue (a bug), it is reproduceable, and Zipato is looking into it. I am confident it will be fixed as soon as possible.

I would guess not. The ticket I opened for this has been resolved and messages now appear without the " " and the software version on my Zipabox has not changed.

It only works for the new messages, if you have old rules that include variables in the push notification it still shows the " ".

Yes, in order to implement a fix, it is necessary to open, save every message puzzle and after that sync rules. This step we could not avoid.

Update: Our team also trying to resolve an issue with decimals numbers and case when a variable is not filled with a value but is still sent through the message Puzzle.

I will keep you informed about the progress through this thread.

Hi,

I can also confirm that the formatting is now better.

Still I like to se some numbers formatting function to prevent the messages to look like the attached.

I don't need this resolution.....:-)

Can Zipato confirm that the team is aware of this ??

Zipato is working on the Decimal issue, see message above, where Pero wrote

@Børge, there are still limitations on numbers, decimals, date, time and other datatypes we really do need :-(This means that it is not, for instance, technically possible to check "livetime", time between two occurrances etc.
