Hi I've observed similar stuff.

Especially if your rename device e.g. the switch of a module after inclusion, or a virtual switch - it is renamed in the device manager, but not in the rule creator. Also the Icons in the rule creator are not updated if you change the type of switch. It still works for me, but I'm always afraid of such glitches as it shows that the programming is not very propper and you never know if some architectural changes are implemented in the software, that this negatively affects your rules.

Update: You have to additionally change the name(and type) in the device browser (gear wheel). Then after refresh, logging-out and -in again the correct name is also shown in the rules. For my taste a bit too many places to change things and not very consistent.

See example (blue circled): Virtual switch renamed to "variables to default", in the device browser and for rules it is still called "reset variables" even after plenty of refreshes etc..

Look at the device in Device Manager (not browser). Open up all the levels in the tree. You'll see that the device has maybe 2 or three levels, each with its own name. One of those levels has a little position marker icon next to it, indicating that it's the device shown in the Device Browser and in rules. It's that name that you're seeing. You may need to change the names on the other nodes to avoid confusion.
