How to make rules using IR and Scene?

Hello,
Anyone knows how to add the IR to trigger few lights on/off.
Example, I am using the IR for Home Theater mode. If i press play, I want all the light to off and if I press pause, the light to turn on.
Also in Scene, similar rules.

Not sure if this is possible. The remotec can only send IR codes not receive (it can learn but not use this function as an input device).
