IR Rule
Need Answer
Hi,
I need to create a rule
Need to read the temperature from the IR controler and if it drops X temperature between sunday at 7pm and friday until 7pm to send IR signal to shut off A/C.
Having problems to do this
Thanks

Firstly I would just simply create a virtual switch/sensor that turns on Sunday 7pm and off Friday 7pm.
I am not sure if you require a rule that if the temp drops x degrees then turn off, or if it drops TO x degrees then turn off. Anyway I created a rule if it temp is below 25 degrees and sensor is on, then send the turn off command. I have attached both an action and set puzzle piece so you can choose either, but I find the set works better.
Also, you need to be sure your AC conditioner unit accepts separate on and off commands. Otherwise the Zipato system may send the command again later and this will turn on the AC unit. Another option would be to create another virtual sensor, that when this rule runs, and the AC unit is set to off, it also sets the virtual sensor to off. Then in the rule have another IF block that if this "AC sensor", lets call it, is on, then run the rule otherwise do nothing. Or turn off the Sunday to Friday sensor instead of having the AC sensor.
Many ways to skin a cat, as they say.
