Is there a way to detect if a device goes off line?
Need Answer
Is there a way to detect if a device goes off line? I have a sporadic power problem in my kitchen (the trip switch occasionally trips) whose cause I'm trying to hunt down. In the meantime I'd like some way to get a warning when the power is cut. I have one Z-wave on/off switch in the kitchen. If I query the state of the switch with a rule, what will the reported state be if the power is disconnected and the device is off line?
Would state=on and state=off both be false?
No connection
Real-time notifications may not work
OK I'll answer my own question: no.
When a device is disconnected, it retains the last state it had when it was disconnected.
I would therefore like to turn this into a request: could we please have access in the rule creator to the online/offline state of a device? This is useful information in and of itself.
