iTach wifi to IR

Answered

Hi,

anybody got one of these and managed to connect to it? I received mine yesterday, and am struggling to connect to it so I can set it up to connect to my WiFi........

My PC sees it in the network list, but whenever I click on it and choose connect, it says unable to connect. Setting the IP of my WiFi adapter to the 192.168.1.x range makes no difference. It says the default IP of the iTach is 169.254.1.xx. Even setting the IP of the adapter to 169.254.1.xx does not work......

I reset the box but no joy.......

Thanks for any help.

This is not the itach flex which Zipato says it supports. I too have a WiFi to IR itach and it does not work, but the flex works perfect.

Yes, the Flex is working but not with AC units! It can not copy the long codes from the remote so for now it is useless when it comes to controlling those split AC systems.... We have tested it with DAIKIN and it is not working, only with TVs, DVDs, receivers etc.

really I didn't realise this. I will check it out. Have you sent a message to support to let them know. i am sure they could increase the code field quite easily.

oh so not necesarily through the zipabox. There is software that you need to use to connect to it. It will update the firmware also. IHelp. Then use the Ilearn for IR codes. here http://www.globalcache.com/products/itach/wf2irspecs/

thanks. I found out what the problem was. apparently Windows 8.1 and windows 10 no longer can directly connect to adhoc networks........ WTF.... So I had to us a workaround.....

Works great.

I used a wi-fi sniffer, and connected to the network with that.

below link is on GlobalCache forum explaining it.
