Leaving entry area resets alarm entry timout

When I enter my "entry area", that is I just came in through my door, the alarm timeout starts. In my case it's set to 1 minute. When the motion sensor stops sensing motion after 30 seconds the timeout restarts. I would expect that the alarm goes off after one minute if I don't disarm it, no matter when I leave the entry zone.
This makes it possible to fool the alarm to never go off by entering the house (MOTION) then standing still for a while (NO_MOTION, the entry timeout restarts), moving (MOTION, the entry timeout restarts) etc ad infinitum. Not a very likely scenario but it shouldn't be possible, right?
