Under Consideration

I can´t figure out how to program this simple rule:

- Switch the lamp on at sunset if it´s after 17:45 otherwise on 17:45.

The best you can do is just make a virtual switch to control the sunset.

Then make a new rule that uses that switch (and the scheduler)

I have use the sunset and sunrise for different purposes during the Winter. Now in spring I see that my lamp is lit though it is still Daylight. I want a rule that I can use all year around. In summer the light is on from sunset to 20:30 in Winter from 17:45 to 20:30. The problem in rule creator is that I can´t fit puzzles in the holes. The best would be if sunset was a "sensor" with a value so I can say WHEN time NOW is between 17:45 and 20:30 - IF sunset < 17:45 Set X to ON else IF sunset > 17:45 Schedule sunset Set X ON.

Any way to solve this ?

I don't know/ have to try this.

But i skipped the hole sunset/sunrise because it's never going to work nicely. I'm using a Fibaro Motion Sensor which has a lux meter to controller the lights.

You can solve this quite easy:

I use IFTTT.com where i set a sensor when SUNRISE to active or SUNSET to passive

I measure the light using an AEON Labs Multi Sensor that sets 2 sensors to ECO or Dark depending on the value

A simple Light sensor i also have at another spot that also sets a sensor to active or passive

All these 3 sensors in the end set a sensor to ECO or Dark so if 1 would fail i still have 2 that would set it. The one that responds the first is the leader.

Motion Sensors will turn on the lights based on those variables and the fact if your Security is Disarmed. Also when no movement for a period of time they will turn off (handy with kids that are to lazy to turn of lights)

This way i also turn lights on in the kids room based on the same sensor. The motion trigger will turn on their lights if the light sensor allows it and also based on a sensor that uses a schedule so light will not turn of when it's dark but it's also time to be sleeping :)

Hi, you can use a rule like the one in attached image.

In that scenario you have to set the first scheduler to be triggered every day at sunset and the second one to be triggered every day at 17:45.

I use a similar rule to open shutter every morning ad sunrise or at 7:00 (if sunrise is before 7:00) and it works fine.

Let me know if it works for you.
