Migrating from Wink to Zipato

I would like to migrate from Wink to Zipato without de-registering and registering some 100 devices again. Does Zipato offer a smart way of migration?

Hi

all zipato controllers have an option to include it into exisiting z-wave network as secondary controller (register on zipato platform, click on button "Start learn Mode" under Z-wave settings) If your Wink controller has an option to shift primary-secondary controllers, then you can shift Zipato controller as primary and you can start to use it into Zipato platform.

If it is not a possible, please wait 2-3 months and zipato will implement an opiton to shift primary-secondary controller and then you will be able to migrate all your devices from secondary (Wink) to primary (Zipato) controller.

Regards

Dino

WILL THIS WORK ALSO FOR ZB1 TO ZB2 ?

Yes, it will work to migrate devices from ZipaBox1 to ZipaBox2, too.

Assuming I connect 3 Zipato Tiles as secondary controllers to my network consisting of three Wink Hub 2 and 4 Wink Relais, could I disable all scene and if/then commands of Wink and set them up in Zipato and just leave Wink in the network? If yes, what happens if Wink shuts down their server (what will soon happen)? Would the whole network go down?

I can disconnect all Wink Relais so that there are only three Winkel Hubs left for the three areas. I assume Zipato Tile as secondary controllers accept the addresses of all devices assigned by the three Wink controllers. Could I just power down the Wink devices and Zipato runs the network because it stays connected? Or does Zipato require a primary controller to run as secondary controller?

Just as an add on to my questions . . . Thanks for the fast response and my compliment to the learning function to add Zipato into existing networks. Great solution!

I assume many Wink users are looking for alternatives in these days. It is expected that the Wink server will not stay alive for ever.
