Modules disappeared
Answered
Dear Zipato,
Yesterday suddenly two switch relay modules (qubino zwave or zwave plus - not sure) disappeared from the module manager and from the rules. They have worked for several weeks.
Could you please explain how this is possible, and even better, is there a way to get them back without having to include them again (modules are difficult to reach)?
Thanks in advance

Hello W.Evens,
Could you please be a bit more specific about the issue at hand.
Which exact qubino devices wen't missing (ZMNHDD1, etc...), when have you noticed they are missing?
Brgs,
Vedran

Hi,
Actually it seems to be only one module (with 2 relays) of type ZMNHBD1 that had an issue.
I noticed it early morning when I wanted to leave home. The night before it still worked.
I did not make any changes to the zipabox in the mean time. When I noticed the module was not receiving, I tried to turn on the lights with the Zipa app on my iPad, but the module wasn’t visible in the system anymore.
I use this module as a “receiver” as it is located in my garage in the back of the garden. In the house, I use another module which is hardwired with an existing wall switch this is the “sender”.
I use a simple rule to switch on the lights around the garage when operating the wall switch in the house.
Looks like this:
Please note that I couldn’t wait the whole weekend “walking in the dark” so I spent the time to include the module again and now everything is working ok.
However I would like to know why the module could have disappeared and try to prevent this from happening in the future.
Because system is not reliable my wife is asking me to hard wire this situation which will make me spend a weekend to dig a trench etc… L. (we’ve also had some issues with battery powered zwave wall switches which seem to be very unreliable. So these have all been replaced by built-in modules, connected to powerlines) so I was hoping that system would now be 100% reliable…
Kind regards,
W. Evens

Hi,
Related to Zwave issue range is characteristic for some devices, when adding devices to Zipato Controller, best practice is first to add device which are always ON, like switches, bulbs, shutters, first non-battery devices, after that you should use ZWNTUT, and after that inclusion of battery devices.
There you could use ZWNTUT and Adjusting power dBm (when controller is discovering direct neighbors and mash network is created).
Between Zwave controller and last node in mash network should be at most 4 non-battery nodes.
Imagine Zipato controller is in the hall, and first direct nodes in the first circle are in the closest rooms, second circle devices are also non-battery but they do not have direct communication with controller, than they have one node between them and main controller, after adding all non-battery devices, battery devices should be added.

There is an example for always on devices:

You can always ZWNTUT on battery device, which should be woken up.
Under settings for each device you can find advanced tab with visible neighbor nodes
