Need simple virtual fader rule.

Need Answer

I am just learning to program a Zipatile and have done fairly well with the online video demonstrations. However, I am attempting to create a simple fade up/down rule using a virtual fader and let's say, I am frustrated at not understanding what I believe should be variable settings. An example would be greatly appreciated. I simply want the ability to fade up and down am Osram Lightify tunable white lamp that is included and working with a virtual switch and on/off rule that I created. If you would like to shed light on how to control the color temperature also, that would be greatly appreciated as well.

Thank you in advance,

Bill

hi bill. Your osram lightify bulb should show up like this. And you can change the colour by using the slider. Something similar in the app. Via the rule/puzzle maker use the set and action puzzle to set the colour temp. You can create a variable to store colours and set the temp to this also. Aswell you can match bulbs by using the one bulb and setting the colour temp to match the meter value of another bulb.

For fade up/down, you can use the action puzzle and "startchangeup", or if you wish something slower, try a repeat block with wait puzzle and an action puzzle with a gotovalue or increase value. I have grouped the 2 exmaples in the attched pic for you

Hi Adrian,

Thank you for your reply and help. The lamp did not show up as in your picture. Maybe that is my issue. Here is a screen shot showing my simple rule and how the device came up. I am not using the Osram hub since the Zipatile find the lamp on its own. I could not find any documentation to tell me if it is need or not but I do have one if that might be the issue. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Bill

looks like it did not include properly. Delete the device, reset it by switching it on, wait 5 sec, off, wait 5 sec, repeat 5 times. Bulb should flash at last off. Then re include.

Hi Adrian, Sorry for the long delay. I have been pulled off on many other projects and this is the first chance that I've had to revisit this issue. I have many of these fixtures so I just included a second one of the same type. I got the same result as the first time. The lamp was inches away from the Zipatile and it said it was successfully included and could now be used but it shows up the same way as the first one. Osram seems to upgrade the firmware on these lamps on a regular basis and the only means that I know of updating is through the Osram gateway. Is it possible that it needs to be upgraded and if so, how would I do that through the Zipatile? Thank you again

I have now successfully deleted the device, reset it and re included it. However, it still comes up properly named yet says it is an unknown device. Not sure where to go from here...
