NodOn Soft remote - Manage association or rules ?

Hi,
I have a NodOn Soft Remote and I wrote rules to manage Fibaro Wall plugs.
It works very fine but there is a latency between the moment I press the button and the device switches on.
Has anyone tried using this remote in association mode through the Zipabox instead of rules (Manage association of the advanced parameters) ?
If so, can you give me your opinion on the subject?
From what I read it consumes more batteries.
I know we can use this remote in direct mode but I want to drive the wall plugs with my box too, so I think this mode is not suitable.

Another question, in association mode, I don't how to use each button for a different command.
I mean Button Circle = Wall plug On, Button, Enclose circle =Wall Plug Off.
I understand that in association mode, the same button manage on/off.
Have you any ideas to help me ?
