Quad sensor configuration

Hello,
I currently have a quad sensor with a Z-Wave switch installed. I recently tried to create two simple rules: one rule was if there is motion, turn on the light; second rule was if there was no motion, turn off the light. However, the issue that I've been having was that light was turning off too fast when there was no motion. I went to configurations of the sensor to adjust, but the options were confusing.
For instance, what does it mean when it says MOTION SENSOR RETRIGGER INTERVAL (8 seconds interval)?
If i increase the interval to 60, does it mean it will re-trigger after 60 seconds? Or does it mean something else? what does increasing the numbers mean? Please let me know. Thank you for your help.
