Question about Danfoss thermometer delay...

Hello there,

I installed a Danfoss LC-13 in my bathroom, and added a rule that changes the temperature every morning for 3 hours. It works fine.

However, I noticed these events:

gT1wGWd

Every hour (and 3 minutes and some seconds) the thermostat and the zipabox seem to talk to each other.

My guess is that this is the "wake-up-intervall" (because battery powered) of the thermostat, where it asks the zipabox if there are any new values to retrieve. Is this assumption correct?

Second question: I want to add two LC-13 in my living room. Because wife, I plan to add a Danfoss temperature sensor (see pic below), which lets me control the "set_temperature". If the two LC-13 only collect data once an hour, it may take up to an hour, before the heating responds, correct? If this is the case, than this is way too long. The new values should be pushed to the LC-13 within a minute. Is this possible? If not, are there other brands/solutions?

Kind regards,

Jan

Greetings,

By default your LC-13 should wake up every 5 minutes or so. This is a tradeoff between battery life and how responsive you want your valves to be. If you increase the wakeup interval, you increase battery life but decrease responsiveness.

If you decrease the wakeup interval, you decrease battery life but your valve will be awake more often, which means it will react faster to setpoint changes.

Your danfoss valve sends its current setpoint to your controller each time it awakens.

If the reported setpoint is different than the last one reported, the new one will be sent to the cloud.

If reported setpoint is the same as the last one reported, it will not be sent to the cloud.

But, if the last reported setpoint was reported over an hour ago, newly reported setpoint will always be sent to the cloud.

That's why you see the same setpoint value reported every hour in your event log.

Thanks for clarification!

Where can I see the "wake-up-intervall"? And how can I change it?

EDIT: Found it myself! Device manager –> Z-Wave –> Thermostat –> Configure

Thank you for your time,

Jan
