RFID Keypad Design

Under Consideration

First of all I want to say sorry for the upcoming words.

I would like to have the functionality of the RFID Keypad, but as I am very keen on excellent design it is not possible for me to buy it. It sounds crazy but I not have the heart to do it as it looks to me kinda ugly.

I would appreciate a redesigned version.

I'd love one that is wired and beeps when the alarm is arming or need disarmed.

I like the Zipato keypad, but would have preferred it to be a bit bigger as it is always a pain in the *** to change the battery.

more numbers 0-9 and the option for 6 digit combinations would be good too.

I agree, it does look cheap, especially as it is one of the most seen products in the house,

Is it not possible to use 6 digit codes? Maybe this is why I have had problems defining codes to users...

yes, look at the alarm keypad in the app, there is only space for 4 numbers.

Why use codes!? its a RFID device, use tags! And for the beeping. You can chose a light, or a siren in the Alarm Partition for beeps. You can also play sounds or text to speech through Sonos. I am also a design buff and my initial feeling was that it was ugly. But when you put it on the wall it melt in nicely with lampwitches.

Because tags you have to remember to bring with you. Codes are in your head. I also would like to create codes for people that needs access temporarily.

Personally, I would prefer NFC over RFID. Most of us have NFC enabled phones, allready...

You can use your phone geolocation to arm and disarm. When both my wifes phone are 200m away from our home the alarm is armed. When one of us is within 200m the system disarmes.

I agree Naarz, but some people like the option to give out pins to visitors or cleaners, etc. It is handy to have this backup if your phones goes flat too.

Naarz. I have two kids that forget their phone and keys, but rarely their heads :)
