Security module not showing

Hello,


I just connected my security module for the first time, in slot 1, however i have yet to connect anything to the module. However, I am not seeing the security module show up in the device manager. Does the security module need to have devices connected before it shows up in the device manager?

Thanks for the answer. I have read through the installation instructions. My issue is that, I do not want to go through the hassle of disconnecting my old alarm system and rewiring it to this module, if this module is malfunctioning. So are you saying definitively that the module will show up in my device manger one i have some sensors and/or siren, battery connected to it?

It was confirmed for me that nothing has to be connected to the module, for it to show up in the device manager. It appears that i have a deffective module, and it is currently being replaced.

I have exactly the same issue, new brand module connected but not shown in the Device Manager. Does it mean that my module is deffective and I need to ask for replacement?

Brian, please confirm if it's working after replacing the Security Module. I have same issue.

it might take some time for it to show. Meanwhile, refresh your browser and synchronize.

I went through the same thing and needed to open a support ticket. It took them a few days to resolve the problem, but it did get fixed.

Same issue - followed the instructions included with the device and online (https://community.zipato.com/knowledge-base/article/zipabox-security-module-connecting-and-installing) - I have resync and refreshed several times, but the security module is still not listed in the Devices list.


Nathan - did support have to modify something with your account to get it to appear?

Same issue here one year later. New ZipaBox and new Security Module.


I've tried to restart, reset, resync and refresh but I can't still see the security module in the Device Manager. Could you please check if the support need and update or other checks ?

unplug zipabox, unplug the security modules from the box, Press and hold Button2 on your Zipabox and then briefly press (and release) Reset button. 05. Keep holding Button2 for 5 seconds (and then release it)

once this is loaded up, register the box. Then unplug, and attach the security module and power up.

forgot to add that when pressing the button you need to plug the zipabox in and have it powering up

Just try the full reset. Make a new firmware upgrade and restart all the box. Still the same issue... no Security module in the Device manager. I'll try the other slot...

Exactly the some on slot 2. I didn't connect anything to the Extension

the security module should only be connected to slot 1. Also do you have any other modules connected to it? The security module should be connected after, or onto, modules like power backup or power module also, not before them (between the module and zipabox)

contact support otherwise, they will fix it. Just send open a ticket with your registered email address and include your serial number. And make sure the Zipabox is connected with security module and internet connection.

I've m'aide all the step (change on slot 1, open a ticket and waiting).


Final answer from the support :

  1. Your registration didn't finish as it should. Networks were unavailable.
  2. After renewing cloud certificate your Zipabox is working as it should and security modul is visible.

Now all seems to be good.
