Sensor Binding

Need Answer

I installed some Aeon Labs recessed door sensors and am using them to turn on lighting when the door is opened. I read a little about binding to allow the sensor to interact directly with the light which I assume bypasses the controller. If that's the case, can the sensor still be used for other things or won't the controller know the state of the sensor?

Also, I'm unable to find a way to bind the recessed sensor to the light switch. I can find the bindings tab, but the switches aren't listed there.

i use the old ui for binding. And yes the sensor is still available to use otherwise. Some senors though have there own setting for timing duration though. So the light may turn off after a certain amount of time has passed.

I've stayed away from the old UI after reading a post by the Zipato team indicating that you can cause serious problems using the old UI. Which makes me wonder why it's still available if that is indeed the case.
