Skype on Zipatile
Need Answer
I have installed Skype through apkmirror.com , Skype is working but if it is not active i can't receive incoming calls/notifications. What to do ?

I just tested and have the following conclusion:
If the app is not loaded (active) it does not work. Same behaviour as on my Sony xperia z3 phone.
If the app is loaded, even works when the screen is off. You will need to go into app notifications (in android settings) and make it priority.
SO it seems an ANdroid issue, not zipato.
Try tasker. Set up a rule to run every 1 hour and lunch skype, then press home button after 10 sec.

What will happen if i start every hour Skype and press the home button after 10 seconds ?
Will it receive than all incoming calls..even the zipatile is in standby ?

Well, well you might not need to start Skype every hour. Ignore this for now.
Change the notification settings and see once you have Skype loaded in the background (you have the Skype sign in the status bar) it rings even swith screen off

it is not working, even when Skype is active and i put the zipatile in standby i can't receive incoming calls.

It is. Go to Android setting-> Notifications->App notifications. Find Skype and select it to be prioritized.

We have tested it here, and confirmed that chat, voice and video calls work fine. We also tested calls from Zipatile to Zipatile, from Zipatiles to android phones, iphones and concluded that everything works fine. Although we found out that sometimes when a call is incoming you do not receive any notifications from skype, but they eventually appear after a few tries. This is probably a bug in the skype app. On Zipatile was installed v7.15.0.409-118423961_Android-4.0.3. Also we did set the notification to prioritized, but still no luck with video and voice calls notifications when the app is in the background, but when you're actually in the app everything works perfectly. I hope this helps you guys :)

Im not sure what skype version I have but once prioritized and in the background, it was working for me even if the screen was off and on home screen. The screen turned on and the skype call appeared full screen (not only in the top bar), together with the audio ringing...

As Dominik is writing incoming calls are not working when the app is not active or the zipatile is in standby mode , i can confirm this.
@ Attila : which version did you install because on your end it works when the zipatile is standby...?

I have not looked yet I'm sorry. I had to uninstall the skype as my zipatile started to turn off the wifi connection and was unusable. Not sure if it was related but now it is working fine again.
When I get home I let you know. Just set up a remainder.

Hi, I now finally had time to write down the skype version I have installed on Zipatile.
It is "com.skype.raider-5.2.0.61097-84078249-minAPI14.apk" search on google and you will find it no problem.
