Smoke detector rule does not work

Hi, I'm trying to trigger an action when smoke is detected by my Zipato smoke alarm, but it does not work. Here is the rule I made (eventually I'll have it send an email message, but for now it just switches on a lamp).
Nothing happens in my rule when I push on the Smoke detector test button, even though I can see a change of state in the module manager.
What do I do wrong?!

Actually I went into the Device Manager and I found out that it does not seem to be working as it should (I have a little yellow dot that says "Trouble" when you fly over it - that can't be good!)

Anyway, I don't know what's wrong as the smoke detector seems to work fine in the Device browser.
Important: there is a "Tamper switch" in the back of the device. Right now I put tape on it as I am running tests and I want to have it by my side without it beeping like crazy! Could it be the reason why it does not work as it should? Does it only work in the cradle?
Does someone know? Or could someone from Zipato let me know.
