How to make rule to start some action after 5 continuous minutes of motion.

Example 1 - in bathroom there is motion sensor. If you spend there less than 5 minutes then do nothing, but if there is motion for more than 5 minutes then start ventilation

Example 2 - garage is open and there is no movement, then close the garage

thx

Hello SVB.

This is quite easy ti setup but it is depending a bit on the setrings of your sensors.

Most presense sensors report motion and then.....after a set interval....no motion.

So if you start a timer when the first motion triggers and then set an action after 5min to start the ventilation.

And. If there is a "no motion" command between 0-5min the timer stops and never trigger the ventilation.

How?

There are several ways.

I would use a repeat block and loop it 50times with a 10sec wait block inside.

I can do a demo rule and email another day if you like?
